L'"Image des antiquités accumulées" de Ruan Yuan. La représentation d'une collection privée en Chine à l'époque pré-moderne

Résumé en japonais.The end of the eighteenth century seems to be a turning point in the history of collections in late-imperial China. With the end of Emperor's Qianlong cultural policy, the influence of the imperial collections faded, leading to the development of collections in the private field. As reflection of a high-ranking official and a major scholar's collecting activities Ruan Yuan(1764-1849) Jigu tu's, dated 1803, is a fundamental document for the understanding of this transition. This gathering of a painting of Ruan Yuan antiques with the rubbings of their inscriptions on a single handscroll, constitutes a unique attempt to include an entire private collection in a global representation. As a compendium of more than 90 inscriptions from bronzes of the Shang to the Song dynasty, the Jigu tu is a vivid expression of the revival of epigraphy relying on the accomplishments of the scholars from the evidential research school kaozhengxue. Beyond the pride of the collector and his intellectual authority, both epitomized in the portrait of Ruan Yuan among his objects, this handscroll could be considered as the expression of a new kind of relation to antiques. Besides its textual value, the merging of the artifact in its material aspects is characteristic of a pre-modern approach of the antique which will have a decisive influence on collector's practices until the XXth century, preparing the way for the rise of the first Chinese museums.La fin du XVIIIe siècle se présente comme un tournant majeur dans l'histoire des collections chinoises de la fin de la période impériale. Avec la fin de la politique culturelle de l'empereur Qianlong, la prééminence des collections impériales tend à disparaître au profit du développement des collections dans la sphère privée. Le Jigu tu de Ruan Yuan (1764-1849), daté de 1803, est un document fondamental pour la compréhension de cette transition. La réunion d'une peinture des objets antiques de Ruan Yuan et des estampages de leurs inscriptions sur un unique rouleau horizontal, constitue une tentative unique pour représenter une collection privée de manière globale. Cet ensemble de plus de 90 inscriptions provenant de bronzes datés des Shang aux Song est une manifestation remarquable de la renaissance de l'épigraphie sous l'impulsion des travaux des savants de l'école de la critique textuelle kaozhengxue. Au-delà de la fierté du collectionneur et de son ascendant intellectuel, incarnés par le portrait de Ruan Yuan entouré de ses objets, ce rouleau est représentatif d'un nouveau type de rapport aux antiques. Parallèlement à sa valeur textuelle, l'émergence progressive de l'objet dans sa matérialité est caractéristique d'une posture pré-moderne, qui devait influencer les pratiques des collectionneurs jusqu'au début du XXe siècle et préparer la voie pour l'avènement des premiers musées de Chine.Lefebvre Éric.
